Watch the latest Handshake.mastermind discussion on community decision-making:

At the recent Handshake.mastermind, we had the privilege of hosting Andrew Lee, one of the founders of Handshake. The conversation turned to the proposal for updating the official handshake.org website, shared via this GitHub PR.

While most feedback was supportive, a few voices preferred keeping the current design unchanged. Andrew emphasized that in a truly decentralized community, we cannot expect unanimous votes on every issue. He proposed a practical framework that could move us forward without paralysis.

The Proposed Decision-Making Process

The suggested approach balances community input with progress:

  1. A proposal is submitted on GitHub for open discussion and comments.
  2. After a set period, an open forum community call (such as our Handshake.mastermind X Spaces) is announced on the GitHub thread.
  3. Community members join to voice concerns, provide support, and participate in a vote.
  4. If the majority favors the proposal, it passes. The outcome from the community call is documented back on the GitHub thread, and implementation moves ahead.

This model has received positive support as an effective way to prevent stagnation while honoring decentralized principles. It empowers the community to make harder decisions when needed.

Upcoming Handshake.mastermind Announcement

We will soon announce the next Handshake.mastermind session dedicated to discussing various proposals and updates. This is your opportunity to join, share your support or hesitations, and help shape the future of Handshake. Stay tuned for details on X and our channels – we believe it's time for the community to tackle some key decisions together.
