The LearnHNS Wallet is a convenient Chrome extension that brings Handshake wallet functionality right into your browser. Built as an improved fork of Shake Wallet, it lets you manage domains, add on-chain records, and even buy names through the integrated Shakedex marketplace.

Summary

Mike from Skyinclude demonstrates the LearnHNS 2026 Chrome extension for Handshake. Following Namebase's shutdown, this tool provides a decentralized browser-based wallet for managing HNS domains. Key features include creating/restoring wallets, viewing and updating on-chain records (text, name, server, DS, glue, etc.), and buying domains via the integrated Shakedex marketplace. The extension also includes a rescan button for refreshing data and works on both Chrome and Brave. While selling domains isn't practical in the extension yet, it serves as a solid MetaMask-like experience for the Handshake ecosystem.

Mike here, going through the LearnHNS upgrade of all the decentralized source tools that I could find in the Handshake ecosystem to pump some energy back into you all. I know it's been rough with Namebase shutdown and freeze, and a lot of you are hurting bad — myself included. So I took it out and built stuff and improved stuff.

You can do it. I encourage you to at least try to check out one or a few of these tools that we've made, pop into the groups, and let us know.

I'm gonna go through the Chrome extension next. In this one, I already have it installed, but I will show you. You can click on the LearnHNS 2026 Chrome extension. There is a more stable older one, Shake Wallet. I don't know what happened to the original Bob Wallet one. Bob Wallet created it. I don't know what happened to the listing. For now, we are still pending in the Chrome extensions store, but I know some of you already got and installed it.

You can click download ZIP. It will be a zip file. You go into extensions — chrome://extensions, enter. You have to turn on developer mode and then load unpacked, which would be the unzipped file.

I have directions: Download the ZIP, open Chrome, turn on developer mode, load unpacked, load it, and then you're done. It's a small thing, like 10 megs.

You'll make a wallet or restore a wallet. One thing to keep in mind, it doesn't give you all of your wallets like in the Bob desktop where you can see all of your wallets.

So we're logged in. It's not that much different from MetaMask. It will scan. If for some reason it doesn't, I put a manual rescan button.

You can see the names we got here. There are a few updates done on this. I added the rescan button. There's settings. I cleaned up some things and made it a little bit easier to use. The more noticeable ones: you can click on and you can see you have text record. You can add a record in these different choices — name, server, DS, glue, text is of course easiest. You can use that for hns.bio.

You can add it and then actually mine on the chain to put that on chain. You have on-chain record which is amazing. Finalize domain. You can see here Future School, pretty cool one. I'm doing lots of testing, so I'm moving stuff around, buying and selling stuff.

You can say update a record. Click it. It will go to ShakeShift. You can see that record here. Pretty cool. I think this is amazing technology.

You have your records here in your LearnHNS wallet, which is a fork of Shake Wallet. And then the market. I added Shakedex inside. You can filter by active only and see listings. You can buy it.

I'm buying it. Paying 45 HNS to the seller with that fee, and that's gonna be debited. Confirm.

It's done. It gave me the ShakeShift wallet. It's gonna take a second to show up here. But it should show up in the sold tab even though it's not fully finalized.

This is the one I did in a previous video. There's quite a few others. Thank you for those transacting, buying, selling. This is really amazing.

Back to the wallet. I actually tried to not make it do that, but Chrome rejected my application for saving the password on persistence or something.

See? I spent that 45. It won't show there. It will show here once it mines. But it's gone. It is sold. Now there's only this one.

I think this is amazing. I haven't built the sell side, but the sell side isn't really practical in a Chrome extension. If you wanna sell names, you gotta use the website, CLI or Bob Wallet desktop.

Also, it works on Brave. I changed the logo, cleaned it up, have a rescan button if you feel like it's stuck. Sometimes the domains refresh or maybe your transaction history.

That's it. Simple one. You have your on-chain records you can do here, which I think is amazing. Agent's broker gave that feedback, and we did it.

You can also do the market for buy side. And then of course your activity, rescan. I like the logo and that's it. Thank you.

It's another decentralized way to use Handshake. The idea is I think there's some decentralized exchanges coming like Rosenbridge I've heard, and some others you can use there. Essentially it's like the MetaMask for the ecosystem. Thank you.
