Video Overview

Summary

In this final video of the LearnHNS upgrade series, Mike from SkyInclude introduces Liquidity Spot — a new open-source platform for trading Handshake names and coins. Built from the ground up, it offers two main trading methods: manual P2P swaps and experimental atomic swaps. The tool aims to boost liquidity in the Handshake community during what many are calling the "MTGOX phase" of HNS.

This is my final video of this series — losing my voice here, but I wanted to get these out. Let's talk about Liquidity Spot, which is step four on the list at learnhns.com.

I know liquidity is a major problem in Handshake right now. We're in the MTGOX phase — Namebase is down, Shake Station is down, and morale is low. This tool probably needs the most community help.

Liquidity Spot is completely open source. You can view the GitHub repo, check the code, run it through AI, or fork it yourself.

Here's what we've built. It's also integrated into Bob Wallet. There are two main features: P2P (person-to-person) trading and atomic swaps.

Atomic swaps are complex and still experimental. P2P currently supports Handshake and Bitcoin only. You can see some completed trades already.

When you start a trade, it creates a trading room where you and your counterparty can chat. The process is manual — both parties must coordinate the transfer. There's a feedback system and admin dispute resolution.

This platform helps track who's sending what and provides a settlement record. Remember, crypto transactions cannot be reversed, so know your counterparty and trade carefully.

Atomic swaps let you use your Bob Wallet for both Handshake and Bitcoin. The process locks the Handshake first, then releases Bitcoin, and finally unlocks the HNS. It's trustless but experimental — start with small amounts you're comfortable with.

I'm looking for people to test trades with. This is the most early-stage beta but also the most innovative, as it enables trustless swaps between native wallets.

This wraps up the LearnHNS upgrade series for Opus Handshake tools. The first three tools (Bob Wallet, Chrome extension, and ShakeDex) were built by amazing open-source contributors.

Join the community, don't be shy, help each other out, learn, and grow together. We'll get through these dark times.
